Navis at Europort 2007Navis took part in the Europort 2007 exhibition
Navis Engineering Oy took part in the Europort exhibition held from November, 6 to November, 9, presenting several important innovations introduced into its systems since the last Europort 2005.
The Navis NavDP4000 Series, a new generation of Dynamic Positioning Systems, was the main attraction for visitors. Formerly known as Navis IVCS (Integrated Vessel Control System), this successful product has undergone several important modifications, which brings it to the leading edge of modern DP technology.
The Navis JP3000 Joystick Pilot for mega-yachts, a fairly new and innovative product in the market of control systems for mega-yachts, also attracted great attention among the Europort visitors. The Navis JP3000 for mega-yachts has been designed as a flexible alternative to installing a DP system on a medium-sized yacht, when there is no need to comply with a certain Class which requires a DP system onboard. The system comprises a powerful DNV-approved autopilot and a joystick control system.
The new functions added to the system are: the “Anchor Watch” function, which allows the captain to automatically hold the yacht within a set area, and the “Hold Position” function, which comes from the philosophy of Dynamic Positioning, and which makes it possible to automatically maintain the yacht in a selected position with high accuracy.

Navis Engineering Oy, founded in 1992, delivered its first DP system in 2001. In just 6 years over 200 Dynamic Positioning Systems have been delivered or contracted (this year the company has supplied twice as many systems as it did in 2006). During the last two years, a worldwide network of service and distribution partners has been created and still continuing to grow.
