Navis Delivers the First Automatic System For Controlling Dredging Operations Navis XPM 3000 to the Russian MarketIn September-October, the first Russian automatic system for controlling dredging operations developed by Navis, Navis XPM 3000, was installed by the Navis experts.
The system has been installed on a spoon dredge ‘Redut’, which at the moment has been for more than a month in operation in the Candalaksha bay in the White Sea, where dredging is being performed. The ship works in the severe conditions of the North, in highly complicated rocky areas. According to the captain, the system has already given a good account of itself and is highly competitive with its western analogs in terms of automation, while in terms of the 3-D visualization of the dredging process the system is unique.
The Navis XPM 3000 systemis intended to control the vessel position and the dredging equipmentin a real-time mode, to dynamically monitor the dredging process, to register the period of operation of the equipment, the hours worked by the personnel. The information gathered during work is saved in an internal database, as well as in the system’s ‘blackbox’.
Navis is planning plans to develop a system for bucket-ladder dredgers, as well as for spoon dredgers of various types. |
