A seminar on Navis AP3000

From March, 13 to March, 15 and from March, 20 to March, 22 a seminar took place in Navis the purpose of which was to train the personnel installing and providing service for the Navis AP3000 autopilot.

In the seminar participated the leading technical experts of two companies: the Saint-Petersburg company Communication and Radio-navigation, the leading company among Navis’ dealers on autopilots in 2005, and the Morskaja Technika Company, a dealer agreement with which is to be signed in the nearest future.

The agenda of the seminar conducted by the Head of the Autopilots and Survey Systems department covered both theoretical and practical issues. In the theoretical part of the seminar main requirements imposed on autopilots by the classification societies were discussed. A full description of the Navis AP3000 and its structural components was given; a great emphasis was put on the specificities of connection of the autopilot to the steering gears of different types. During the practical classes the specialists participating in the seminar had a possibility to study in detail and master the procedures of connection of the Navis AP3000, calibration of sensors, and the fine-tuning of the autopilot.
