Main advantages of Navis AP 3000:
  • Keeping of heading with minimal rudder activity
  • Easy heading change and maneuvering
  • Comprehensive set of alarms
  • Built-in self-diagnostics and user-friendly alarm reporting system
  • Interface with standard data sources via NMEA 0183 Serial I/O Channel
  • Compatible with various steering systems interfaces
  • Single or multi-console configuration
  • EMI/RFI immunity of all signals and power circuits
Navis AP 3000 operating modes include:
  • "Full Follow-Up" - in the FFU mode rudder angle is set by the external steering wheel
  • "Dodge Mode" - this mode enables change of rudder angle manually by means of the knob on Autopilot control panel without switching over to FFU or NFU (STANDBY) mode
  • "Non Follow-Up" - AP 3000 in STANDBY mode. The ship steering system (helm, jog lever / NFU tiller) is operating for vessel control
  • Automatic Keeping of Heading - AP 3000 controls the vessel in "AUTO" mode at preset heading with minimum rudder activity
  • Automatic Control of the Vessel motion on a straight track – In "TRACK" mode AP 3000 controls vessel on straight legs. Autopilot receives cross track error and bearing origin to destination from external TCS system (INS, ECDIS) and operates as a track controller. Autopilot operates as a part of type approved TCS Category "A"
  • Works as part of an integrated navigation system – In "AutoNAV" mode AP 3000 controls vessel on straight legs and turns. Autopilot receives commanded Heading-To-Steer and commanded ROT from TCS system and takes them as a preset heading and preset rate of turn. Autopilot operates as a part of type approved TCS Category "C"
  • "OVERRIDE" (Option) - Direct manual control of rudder (or two linked rudders), using external override devices (tillers)
